About the role

The Manager Designate works under the supervision of the General Manager to ensure compliance with the Company’s product and customer service standards. This role focuses on team leadership, decision-making, and accountability to develop the competencies required to become a General Manager.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality products to customers by ensuring each delivered product meets Papa John’s standards and accurately reflects the customer’s order.
• Communicates, trains, and promotes quality standards to team members using tools like the Operations Manual and Team Member Handbook.
• Recommends performance actions regarding team members to the General Manager.
• Ensures the entire team is quality and customer-focused, fostering an atmosphere of teamwork, energy, and fun.
• Manages sales goals by providing prompt and friendly customer service and building check averages through team training and sales execution.
• Seeks additional sales through creative local restaurant marketing and community engagement.
• Manages profit goals by controlling food, labor, and other costs within budget using the PROFIT System.
• Executes administrative and cash management duties.
• Plans and manages inventory levels using the restaurant’s computerized system to meet sales demands and minimize loss.
• Manages company assets by ensuring the restaurant is clean, fully equipped, and all equipment operates properly; maintains safety and security standards.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• ServSafe or local/state food service certification preferred.
• Stable employment history with supervisory experience.
• Ability to work long hours (32+ hours generally required), including nights, weekends, and emergencies.
