About the role

Citrin Cooperman is seeking a Royalty Management Analyst to join their team. This role is focused on royalty accounting, data engineering, and business intelligence, supporting complex royalty workflows in music, entertainment, or IP-driven businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain advanced royalty tracking tools and financial reports

  • Develop interactive dashboards and automated reporting in Power BI

  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and auditability of royalty data across multiple sources

  • Implement and maintain orchestration, scheduling, and monitoring; ensure pipelines are idempotent, observable, and recoverable

  • Partner with royalty accounting teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • Build and maintain API integrations with third-party platforms

  • Build automated reconciliation between source statements and warehouse data, with alerting on variance thresholds

  • Automate recurring data ingestion, validation, and reconciliation processes

  • Establish data quality checks (completeness, uniqueness, referential integrity, control totals); own remediation workflows for failed checks

  • Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability

  • Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, variances, and anomalies

  • Support forecasting, statements, and client reporting with robust data models

  • Improve data governance, documentation, and quality controls

  • Collaborate with accounting, IT, and client service teams to recommend system enhancements and process improvements

  • Maintain pipeline code in Git with peer review, automated testing, and CI/CD deployment

  • Serve as a technical subject-matter expert within the royalty management group

Qualifications

  • 6-9+ years of experience in analytics, BI, or data-driven roles (royalty, finance, or media strongly preferred)

  • Advanced experience with Power BI, including DAX and data modeling

  • Hands-on experience working with APIs, data connectors, and automated data feeds

  • Strong understanding of relational data structures and financial datasets

  • Experience with SQL and/or other query languages

  • High attention to detail, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for data automation

  • Experience with Azure, Snowflake, or other cloud data platforms

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Experience:

  • In royalty accounting, music, entertainment, publishing, or intellectual property

  • Familiarity with royalty systems (e.g., Curve, Vistex, MetaComet, or similar)

  • Experience working in a professional services or business management environment
