About the role
Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center seeks a Critical Care Registered Nurse to join our team. This is a full-time position with benefits eligibility.
Responsibilities
- Achieve site and system goals for Clinical Outcomes in all areas of responsibility.
- Provide leadership to performance improvement activities, support process improvement activities, facilitate development, maintenance and annual revision of PI plans for all areas of responsibility, review and provide feedback for PI projects, analyze results and develop strategies to ensure that desired clinical outcomes and standards of care are achieved and sustained.
- Ensure quality and safety of care delivery by ensuring the development of competency training programs as needed; compliance with Culture of Safety initiatives; promoting evidence based practice through a variety of initiatives, staying abreast of newly published studies and ensuring application of research results in practice; Developing, approving and facilitating review of department policies, procedures and protocols.
- Communicate extensively with reporting staff and staff from other departments to receive, respond and communicate information quickly and effectively. Devise and oversee methods for corrective action regarding identified deficiencies.
- Develop and implement annual goals for departments in alignment with nursing strategic plan. Evaluate and advocate for staffing and other clinical resources necessary to provide excellent health outcome results.
- Ensure financial targets for all areas of responsibility are met. Develop, implement and monitor the operating budgets for areas of responsibility, including revenue, expenses, salary planning and capital equipment sufficient to meet current and projected patient volume/service requirements.
- Maintain a positive, collaborative workforce able to meet deadlines, customer needs and fluctuating workloads with limited resources. Facilitate state-of-the-art models of care delivery, spanning continuum of care and ensure that the principles of Shared Governance are evident across all areas.
- Partner with Medical Chairs and Medical directors to identify goals, plan process improvement and implement evidence based practice. Partner with Medical Chairs and Medical directors for Surgical and Ambulatory Services and Anesthesia Services and Critical Care to identify goals, plan process improvement and implement evidence based practice.
- Improve physician satisfaction by developing and maintaining relationships with physicians in areas of responsibility. Participate in provider collaborative meetings or committees within area of accountability. Promote physician satisfaction in clinical areas by rounding on medical directors and developing action plans to address areas for improvement.
- Participate in the preparation of new protocols, working closely with physicians and department leadership. Devise methods for facilitating productive and constructive relationships between physicians, departments, and hospital senior management.
Requirements
- Nurse, Registered (RN)
- Graduation from approved School of Nursing
- 3-5 years of experience in specialty area
- Management development training with progressive supervisory assignments
- BSN minimum
- Management experience 2-3 years
- Board Certification within two years of hire
- Annual requirement of 10 CEUs
- Excellent management skills including ability to work well with others, team building skills, communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge of strategic planning
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with physician relations
- Strong drive to achieve superior results
- Current Licensure in State of Illinois
- Member of Specialty Organization
Qualifications
- Licensure in State of Illinois
- Education: BSN preferred
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in specialty area
- Training: Management development training with progressive supervisory assignments
- Board Certification: Within two years of hire
- CEUs: Annual requirement of 10 CEUs

Pay
$51.05 - $76.60
Schedule
Monday-Friday with flexibility to meet departmental needs.
