Manager, Corporate Internal Events - Kansas City, MO (Hybrid)
About the role
The Manager, Corporate Internal Events is responsible for planning and executing a diverse portfolio of internal events, including senior leadership meetings, attorney training programs, practice group meetings, and firmwide gatherings. These events range in size from approximately 30 to 550 attendees. In partnership with firm leadership and departmental stakeholders, the Manager develops and manages an annual events calendar and collaborates with both internal teams and external vendors to deliver successful events. This role ensures all programs align with Littler's brand standards, deliver an exceptional attendee experience, and remain within established budget guidelines. This is a hybrid position located in Kansas City, MO.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end coordination and execution of internal events, including attorney training programs, senior leadership meetings, practice group and committee meetings, inclusion and diversity initiatives, and other special events as needed.
- Manage event logistics, vendor relationships, attendee communications, and onsite operations to deliver a seamless experience that reflects Littler's commitment to exceptional service, professional excellence, and meaningful learning opportunities.
- Precision to detail for overall event management including invitation and registration management, project timelines, logistics, communications, speakers and faculty, onsite materials, mobile app content, vendors, branding, logistics, and post-event follow up.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create invitations, communications, and event deliverables.
- Partner with firm leadership and department managers to develop and maintain a comprehensive annual calendar of internal events. Communicate event schedules to key stakeholders, manage calendar updates, and ensure all event-related information is accurate, current, and aligned across firm systems and communications.
- Establish and execute detailed project timelines for all events, work collaboratively with event stakeholders to ensure all milestones and deadlines are met, and analyze events from inception to completion to identify areas of success and improvement.
- Partner closely with AV vendors to ensure all equipment is ordered, delivered, and thoroughly tested prior to each event. Coordinate and confirm that appropriate internal and external technical and logistical support resources are onsite as needed to ensure seamless event execution.
- Maintain and monitor appointed budgets for all events.
- Manage external vendor relationships to ensure quality standards are maintained and budgets are controlled. External vendors include, but are not limited to, hotel and event venues, promotional item companies, caterers, and entertainment providers.
- Up to 35%, U.S.-based travel.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5-7 years of professional services events related experience is required.
- Strong ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal guidance while participating as a team member and to manage multiple projects and deliverables.
- Demonstrated ability to use Excel and PPT and have a strong grasp of MS office functions.
- Strong background in all stages of event management including site selection and analysis, food & beverage selection, hotel contracts, vendor management, cross-team collaboration, budget, etc.
- Strong, confident presence; capable of engaging credibly and effectively with leadership and attorneys.
- Ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and articulate manner.
- Management of at least one direct report.
Education
- Bachelor's degree required.
