Manager - Corporate Accounting
About the Role
Atlas Healthcare Partners forms strategic partnerships with health systems to develop, manage, and operate Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs). This role oversees corporate accounting, internal and external audit support, and assists with month-end close while providing day-to-day oversight of an assigned accounting group.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure financial transactions comply with GAAP principles.
- Support external and internal financial reporting processes.
- Provide high-quality customer service to corporate leaders regarding departmental transactions and joint venture spend.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with support center leaders.
- Actively participate in the monthly close process, including preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, reports, and flux analysis.
- Participate in monthly operational reviews for centers and Atlas functional leaders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Finance, Development, Revenue Cycle, and Managed Care.
- Lead and manage development projects supporting Design & Construction and Material Equipment Planning teams with transaction tracking and reporting.
- Serve as a partner to development and joint venture health systems.
- Ensure accurate reflection of payroll, benefits, shared services, and allocation transactions in the general ledger.
- Provide fluctuation analysis for monthly operating reviews.
- Manage ad hoc reporting, requests, and process improvements for assigned areas.
- Manage, develop, train, and mentor corporate accounting staff.
- Enhance internal controls through oversight and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with accounting, financial, and tax regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and implement necessary adjustments.
- Perform functions according to established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while delivering excellent service.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5+ years of accounting experience.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision to meet objectives and deadlines.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong accounting research and problem-solving skills.
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to multitask.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
- Ability to operate independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA license preferred.
- Prior healthcare industry experience preferred.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
Typical office environment with extensive sitting, periodic standing, and walking. May require lifting up to 20 pounds. Requires significant use of personal computer, phone, and general office equipment. Needs adequate visual acuity, ability to grasp and handle objects, and effective communication through reading, writing, and speaking. May require off-site travel.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Direct supervisory responsibility for assigned corporate accounting staff, including coaching, candidate selection, training, performance appraisals, work assignments, and disciplinary action.
- Reports to VP – Corporate Controller.
- Full managerial scope and authority for employment actions.
- Serves as a role model for staff, upholding the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
Works independently under general supervision, following defined standards and procedures. Uses critical thinking to solve problems and reconcile accounts in a timely manner. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with varying levels of management.
