Responsibilities

  • Oversee NCCI's corporate accounting operations and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information provided to executive leadership, the Board of Directors, auditors, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of corporate accounting policies, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Manage month-end closings, detailed accounting reconciliations, and support budget/forecast activities.
  • Research and implement accounting standards, and coordinate and prepare audited annual reports and quarterly unaudited financial statement packages.
  • Facilitate year-end financial statement audits with third-party accounting firms.
  • Manage and direct assigned staff, including decisions about hiring and staffing, position design, organization structure, performance assessment, coaching, base, merit, and bonus pay, promotions, and corrective action and separations.
  • Review fixed asset accounting prepared by Senior Analyst.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Five (5) years of corporate accounting experience or three years of audit experience with a Big Four or large public accounting firm
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP requirements
  • Strong understanding of financial statement preparation and disclosures requirements
  • Knowledge of internal controls over financial reporting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively present accounting conclusions to executive leadership and external auditors
  • Ability to use independent judgment and sound decision-making skills, and work independently with minimal management oversight
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and deadlines

Qualifications

  • Two (2) or more years of people management experience or as a senior/lead providing feedback to others
  • Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite
  • Experience coordinating external audits
  • Technical accounting research experience
  • Experience preparing GAAP financial statements
