Overview

Responsibilities
- Supervises a team of direct and indirect reports on performing the constructability and outage coordination for all projects in the transmission portfolio.
- Researches, analyzes, and understands the scope of work for transmission line and substation projects, and develops a constructability assessment and execution strategy for inclusion into conceptual design to final design.
- Develops a Constructability Work Outage Sequence (CWOS) and identifies and provides any potential outage restrictions that may affect execution.
- Manages and updates outage sequencing as required throughout the project life-cycle.
- Works with other LKE functional groups such as Siting, Real Estate and Right of Way, Environmental, Engineering, and Transmission and Distribution Operations to identify and incorporate requirements in the project.
- Participates in field walk downs, design reviews, and site access/environmental reviews.
- Performs audits of project execution plans, constructability plans, and CWOS from Gate 1 through Gate 5 in the project life-cycle.
- Supports the development and maintenance of Project Management support policies, standards, and procedures necessary to produce the deliverables from the team and to collaborate effectively with the other teams.
- Assumes a leadership role in educating the business and technical community on construction, CWOS, and the constructability processes.
- Ensures investments are vetted and aligned with strategic objectives during the project development stage, and supports execution of strategically aligned projects as needed.
- Manages engineers to implement standards, best practices, and opportunities for system improvements with planned investments.
- Enhances decision-making capabilities by providing visibility to standards, fiber needs, procurement, financial requirements, and resource constraints.
- Ensures investments are vetted and aligned with strategic objectives during the project development stage, and supports execution of strategically aligned projects as needed.
- Team provides estimates for all transmission and substation projects throughout the lifecycle of the projects, always driving the team to consistently increase accuracy and drive costs down.
- Sets priorities to ensure task completion and coordinates work activities with other team members to ensure delivery dates are met.
Qualifications
- Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, construction management, or a comparable degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Required Experience: 7+ years relevant experience.
- Strong written, oral, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated initiative and leadership skills.
- Working knowledge of critical-path-methodology, scheduling tools, and project budgets.
