We are looking for an experienced and motivated Construction Manager to join our team and oversee the installation of fiber optic networks in various locations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall planning, execution, and successful completion of OSP fiber-optic network construction projects.
• Provide executive directions to ensure alignment with corporate objectives, customer requirements, and operational priorities.
• Lead construction teams with a focus on safety, quality, productivity, and financial accountability.
• Establish and communicate clear performance expectations while fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and professional growth.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to define project scope, schedule, budget, and technical specifications.
• Monitor project progress, costs, and quality, implementing corrective actions to maintain targets.
• Supervise and mentor construction staff, inspectors, and contractors, providing guidance and coaching to achieve operational excellence.
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and audits to verify compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with municipalities, counties, homeowner associations (HOAs), utility providers, and water districts.
• Recruit, hire, and train construction inspectors, coordinators, and other key staff.
• Address employee relations issues, including performance management, coaching, and disciplinary actions, in a consistent and fair manner.
• Oversee project budgets, financial forecasts, and cost controls to ensure profitability and resource efficiency.
• Champion process improvements and innovation initiatives to optimize OSP construction workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
• A minimum of fifteen years of progressive experience in OSP construction and fiber network deployment, including project oversight and field leadership.
• Strong knowledge of fiber-optic network testing equipment, tools, and procedures.
• Familiarity with OSP construction standards, codes, regulations, and safety practices to ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
• Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address project challenges effectively.
• Valid Driver’s License

Work Environment

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds. This role involves extensive fieldwork, including site visits, data collection, and route verification in various outdoor environments. Standard daily travel to assigned territories is required for this position (up to 40% of the time within a 10-mile radius).
