Manager, Communications – Full-time Term Limited - The Task Force for Global Health
About the role
The Task Force for Global Health is an Emory University affiliate located in Decatur, GA. It supports the global effort to control and eliminate diseases that impact poor and neglected populations, focusing on neglected tropical diseases, vaccines, and health systems strengthening.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with others to develop and implement programs and communications materials for targeted audiences which enhance awareness and utilization of divisional programs and services.
- Create effective promotional materials including articles, brochures, forms and flyers.
- Design, oversee and update a website to educate and promote activities and programs; coordinate website with other related websites.
- May manage a budget.
- May assist in evaluating, measuring and responding to issues related to the quality of services provided.
- Research constituents' satisfaction with divisional programs and services.
- Develop reports and recommendations to sustain high quality.
- May supervise or provide direction to staff.
- Lead projects as assigned.
- Serve as an internal marketing consultant for programs and services.
- May be responsible for managing various aspects of social media activities.
Cor-NTD Team
- Work with the COR-NTD team to identify the elements needed for a website redesign; manage the redesign process with the selected developer, including generating new content to better position the organization to secure new funding.
- Manage virtual convenings of expert technical groups, including one on lymphatic filariasis, including scheduling, organizing content, and disseminating meeting minutes.
- Create a bi-annual COR-NTD newsletter, including the coordination of content, graphic design, layout, and listserv dissemination.
- Maintain regular social media updates and generate content around special events, including requests for proposals and coalition meetings.
- Edit content generated by team members, including reports, case studies, blogs, and presentations.
- Aid in the development of communication strategies for the dissemination of results for large-scale research studies.
Women in Malaria (WiM) Team
- Coordinate communications and engagement activities across the Women in Malaria network, including newsletters, announcements, and member communications.
- Work closely with the Women in Malaria Communications Committee to support strategic messaging, communications planning, and outreach activities.
- Develop and maintain social media and digital communications content to increase visibility and engagement across Women in Malaria platforms.
- Support project management and tracking for ongoing communications initiatives and events, including maintaining timelines, coordinating follow-up actions, and supporting implementation of priority activities.
- Support the coordination and facilitation of Women in Malaria working groups, committees, and virtual convenings, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and disseminating meeting notes and action items.
- Draft, edit, and format communications materials, presentations, reports, blogs, and other external-facing content.
- Provide administrative and operational support for coalition activities and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, art or other related field.
- Five years of experience in the development of marketing and informational materials, writing/research, project management and/or information technology.
- Additional related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Knowledge of publishing and other related software.
- Demonstrated creativity in the design of marketing, public relations or educational programs and communications materials.
Pay
This is a term-limited position, with the option to transition to a full-time employee based at The Task Force for Global Health. Travel is expected to be 5-10% domestic and international.
Schedule
The position will require a minimum of two days per week in-person at the Decatur, Georgia office. The schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of the department.
