Global Communications Manager

Zenity · United States · 4 days ago
RemoteRemoteWriting$55/hrFull-time

About The Role

You won't inherit a communications function. You'll build one. You'll own Zenity's global communications end to end: media, executive and internal comms, corporate narrative, and social. But first you build the machine, the comms strategy, annual calendar, corporate moments, narrative priorities, and the cross-functional planning that keeps the whole company on one story. Then you run it: turning a technical, fast-moving security and AI story into coverage, credibility, and category leadership. You'll set strategy and stay close to execution, manage internal comms, direct PR agencies, and work directly with founders who are already credible voices in AI security.

About Zenity

Zenity is the leader in AI Agent Security and the first company to bring an agent-centric security platform to market. As enterprises accelerate AI agent adoption, we are establishing the security framework for how AI agents are secured and governed at enterprise scale. We deliver full-lifecycle visibility, governance, detection, prevention, and response for AI agents from buildtime to runtime, across SaaS, home-grown platforms, and end-user devices. Backed by $55M+ in funding, including a $38M Series B with strategic investment from Microsoft’s M12, Zenity is trusted by Fortune 500 enterprises globally. Join us in shaping how AI agents are secured at enterprise scale.

What You'll Do

  • Communications Strategy & Operating Model
    • Define Zenity's global communications strategy, priorities, and operating model
    • Build the annual communications calendar and the cross-functional planning that keeps the company telling one story
    • Prioritize the narrative: decide which stories, moments, and audiences matter most, and when
    • Identify the corporate moments worth owning and build the plans to land them
  • Media & Analyst Relations
    • Build and run Zenity's global media strategy across business, security, AI, and enterprise tech press
    • Develop and maintain first-name relationships with the reporters, editors, and analysts who shape the AI security conversation
    • Write the materials that drive coverage: pitches, press releases, bylines, talking points, briefing docs, and rapid-response commentary
    • Run a rapid-response program tied to breaking news, emerging threats, and the agentic AI news cycle, coordinating fast-turn commentary with internal experts
    • Manage PR agencies across global markets, holding them accountable to results
  • Corporate Communications
    • Build Zenity's corporate communications from the ground up, today it's mostly PR, and it needs to be more
    • Own the company-level moments: funding announcements, M&A, major customer wins, corporate milestones, and executive change communications
    • Lead crisis communications and protect corporate reputation, with the judgment to move fast and get it right under pressure
    • Own and evolve Zenity's core narrative and messaging framework as the category and product mature
  • Executive Communications
    • Build the external profiles of the CEO and senior leaders through bylines, keynotes, podcasts, speaking slots, and social presence
    • Counsel executives on messaging, positioning, and high-stakes moments with sound, independent judgment
    • Ghostwrite for leaders across formats and make it sound like them
  • Internal Communications
    • Define the company's internal communications strategy, priorities, and operating model
    • Lead and mentor the Internal Communications & Employee Experience function
    • Ensure employees receive timely, transparent, and aligned communications across the company
    • Partner with executive leadership and HR to strengthen trust, clarity, and engagement through periods of growth and change

Requirements

  • Built a communications function and organization from the ground up at a startup, you've done the thing this role is asking for, not just run a function someone else built
  • Spent 8+ years in media relations, PR, or corporate communications, with a meaningful stretch of it inside cybersecurity, you know how security buyers think, how the threat landscape moves, and how security and tech press actually operate
  • Built and kept relationships with the reporters, editors, and analysts who cover security and enterprise tech, and used them to land high-impact coverage in top-tier outlets
  • Translated technical AI material, including GenAI and agentic AI and the risks that come with it, into stories reporters and analysts wanted to run
  • Ghostwrote for executives and made it sound like them, across bylines, keynotes, and posts
  • Managed PR agencies and budgets, including internationally, and held them to results
  • Managed or developed comms talent, or you're ready to take on a direct report
  • Operated both strategic and fully hands-on in a fast-paced, remote environment

What We Look For

  • Proven ability to build, not just maintain, systems, processes, or relationships
  • Comfort operating in evolving, fast-moving environments where the playbook is still being written
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ownership mindset with accountability for outcomes, not just activity
  • Experience in high-growth or venture-backed environments
  • Exposure to AI, security, or emerging technology ecosystems

Why This Role/Zenity

  • You own the whole narrative. Media, analysts, exec voice, internal, social, it's yours to architect, not a slice of someone else's plan.
  • Direct line to credible founders. Our leaders are already respected voices in AI security. You're not manufacturing authority from nothing, you're amplifying people who have something to say.
  • A category being written in real time. Most comms leaders spend careers defending share of voice in a crowded space. Here you're helping create the language the market will use.
  • Microsoft-backed, Fortune 500-trusted, still early. The credibility of a later-stage company with the open canvas of a Series B.
