About the role

The Manager, Regional Clinical Informatics plays a crucial role in the Providence St. Joseph Health Clinical Informatics management team. They collaborate with Directors and Medical Informatics to implement, support, and optimize clinical informatics, the Caring Reliably framework, and IS strategy. This role partners with clinical and physician leaders to manage staff performance in informatics initiatives, focusing on IT and services to support nursing and interdisciplinary care partners in practice, applications, decision-making, research, quality improvement, education, and resource management.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Directors and Medical Informatics to implement, support, and optimize clinical informatics, the Caring Reliably framework, and IS strategy.
  • Partner with clinical and physician leaders to manage staff performance in informatics initiatives, focusing on IT and services to support nursing and interdisciplinary care partners in practice, applications, decision-making, research, quality improvement, education, and resource management.
  • Represent the information and knowledge needs and requirements of healthcare professionals and patients, promoting safe, effective, and efficient use of information technology in clinical settings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Informatics, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Public Administration or related healthcare field or equivalent education/experience.
  • 6 years of strong experience in clinical practice, clinical informatics, and management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and successfully execute strategic plans for highly complex issues.
  • Able to communicate with all levels and manage shifting priorities, accountable for deliverables.
  • 4 years of experience in clinical or IT functional management in comparable organizations, including financial and supervisory accountability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Informatics, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Public Administration or related healthcare field (or degree in process).
  • Certification in Informatics upon hire.
  • Epic Certification in one or more applications upon hire.
  • Informatics certifications or credentialing (may be equivalent for up to 2 years of experience for this position at the hiring manager’s discretion) upon hire.
  • 3 years of experience in all areas of program and project management including multiple project integration and process/workflow redesign.
