Responsibilities
- Plans, directs and organizes operations of clinical engineering service for Central Ohio/OhioHealth entities.
- Calls for and coordinates analysis and development of cost-effective strategies to service and maintain organizational clinical equipment.
- Provides administrative direction, specific to medical equipment, for major purchases of capital equipment.
- Assists in negotiation of service contracts with Original Equipment Manufacturers OMEs to ensure reliability and integrity of highly technical medical equipment and systems.
- Works with Supply Chain Services to ensure charges for outside services are appropriate and reasonable.
- Conducts internal vs. outsourcing options for maintenance services and repairs.
- Promotes professional development and training of staff to improve service response resulting in improved customer satisfaction at lesser costs.
- Acts as consultant for OhioHealth hospitals with respect to equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Strives to standardize equipment purchases and maintenance throughout OhioHealth.
- Prepares meaningful reports for use by executive staff and regional level regarding maintenance, expense allocations, trends, utilization statistics, and alternative approaches for servicing equipment and allocation of human resources.
- Establishes, equips and staffs department to assure optimum performance.
- Maintains inventory of spare parts.
- Prepares budgets.
- Assures staff are responsive to customer needs and requirements.
- Develops and maintains databases for tracking equipment histories related to preventative maintenance and repairs of equipment.
- Maintains technical library for department use.
- Conducts in-service training.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (Required)
- AAMI - Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation - Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation
- Field of Study: Electrical Engineering
- Field of Study: Electronics Engineering
- Field of Study: Biomedical Technology
- Years of experience: 5 years as Technician
Desired Attributes
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.
- AAMI Certification.
