Manager, Clinical Engineering

About the role

The Clinical Engineering Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the Clinical Engineering department under the general direction of the Director or Vice President of Clinical Engineering. This role is responsible for managing department operations, supervising and developing staff, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards, and supporting departmental budgeting and resource management.

Responsibilities

• Manages department operations
• Supervises and develops staff
• Ensures compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
• Serves as a Biomedical Technician as needed to support the delivery of safe, reliable patient care
• Contributes to the planning, budgeting, and acquisition of clinical capital equipment

Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in related field or actively pursuing Associate's degree
• 3-4 years of progressively more responsible job-related or management experience
• CBET - Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician CHTM or CBET upon hire required or must be actively pursuing and obtain CHTM or CBET within 2 years

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Joint Commission and other regulatory agency's accreditation requirements
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, internal departments, and external agencies
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to exercise independent judgment
• Business acumen and leadership skills
• Working knowledge of various computer software applications
• Ability to travel between sites as necessary
