About the Role

The Manager of Charter Air Operations will manage key aspects of the client and university partner interface within the Charter Air department. Responsibilities include overseeing the sourcing-to-collection lifecycle for charter air transportation, maintaining relationships with charter departments at commercial airlines, and working with charter air carriers across the United States and globally. This role is critical in managing relationships, selection, and contracting processes for collegiate and event clients and may involve overseeing Charter Air Coordinators.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain strong relationships with university partners and work closely with charter air carriers.
  • Coordinate and communicate with Anthony Travel onsite athletics personnel and Event Managers.
  • Ensure Anthony Travel receives the best available rates in the market.
  • Assist with managing contracts to minimize risk and maximize revenue.
  • Perform situation analysis and decision-making.
  • Work with charter air liaisons to prepare charters for events and address customer service issues.
  • Identify solutions to process or business problems proactively.
  • Manage all aspects of the air charter process, including client reporting, procedural accuracy, data setup in travel management systems, and customer travel experience (coordination with carriers, TSA, airports, and handling flight interruptions).

Requirements

  • Seven or more years of related business, sales, and charter air management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven leadership and management skills.
  • Strong client-service and vendor management orientation, with solid interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working with Airline Certificates (Part 121, 125, & 135).
  • Business knowledge of ARGUS ratings, airline certificates (Part 121, 125, and 135), DOT regulations, CFR, Part 212 affinity/single entity, and Part 380/public charters.
  • History of developing relationships with existing and potential clients and partners, resulting in financial or other benefits.
  • Ability to understand and follow internal business processes, recommending improvements where possible.
  • Familiarity with the end-to-end travel lifecycle and charter air operations and contracts.
  • Professional representation of Anthony Travel in phone and face-to-face interactions.
  • Team-oriented approach to establishing business processes and meeting team goals.

Pay

Hiring rate range: $50,625 – $67,500 annually. The company strives to provide locally competitive rewards packages, including base rate, short- and long-term incentives, growth opportunities, and robust benefits.
