Manager, Channel Marketing - Email, AWS Integrated Demand Center
About the role
We're looking for an experienced Manager of Email Marketing, Events to lead a team of email marketers who own the email demand generation channel for AWS's global events portfolio — including AWS Summits, re:Invent, and other flagship programs. This is a people-leadership role focused on building a high-performing team, setting strategic direction for the email channel, and driving measurable business outcomes (registrations, attendance, pipeline contribution) across regions.
You'll sit at the center of a cross-functional ecosystem — partnering with event operations, marketing operations, creative, and regional marketing teams to ensure email remains the highest-performing demand generation lever for AWS events worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Development
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of Email Marketing Managers responsible for campaign strategy, execution, and optimization
- Set the bar for email marketing craft — segmentation, architecture, testing methodology, and operational rigor
- Build scalable processes and documentation that enable the team to operate independently at high quality
- Recruit, hire, and onboard top talent; maintain a strong hiring bar for the discipline
- Create development plans that grow individual contributors into strategic email marketers
- Email Strategy & Architecture
- Set the strategic vision for event email programs across the full lifecycle: awareness → registration → confirmation → attendance conversion
- Define segmentation frameworks, cadence strategies, and trigger logic that maximize conversion while minimizing fatigue
- Drive innovation in email architecture — modular content systems, reusable templates, and automated workflows that scale globally
- Own the email testing roadmap: A/B and multivariate experiments grounded in statistical rigor
- Performance & Optimization
- Establish and track KPIs that tie email activity to business outcomes (registrations, attendance, pipeline)
- Build reporting frameworks that surface insights and drive decisions — not just dashboards
- Diagnose performance issues at the segment, region, and campaign level; guide the team to root-cause analysis
- Close the registration-to-attendance gap through data-driven nurture and reminder strategies
- Global Execution at Scale
- Oversee simultaneous email campaigns across multiple regions, languages, compliance environments, and timezones
- Ensure operational rigor: QA processes, approval workflows, pre-send checklists, and error prevention systems
- Navigate regulatory and compliance considerations (GDPR, CAN-SPAM, CNIL, ePrivacy) across markets
- Balance speed with quality — maintain high standards while meeting hard event deadlines
