Manager, Certification Program

About the role

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is seeking a Senior Director, Certification Program to oversee the certification processes for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) and Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBE).

Responsibilities

• Support the MTA’s $68.4 billion 2025-2029 capital program by expediting MWDBE certification reviews and recertifications.
• Review new applications for MWDBE certification and annual DBE recertification.
• Conduct comprehensive eligibility review meetings and on-site reviews to ensure compliance with certification eligibility criteria.
• Prepare comprehensive written evaluations of certification eligibility based on regulatory requirements.
• Maintain detailed records and databases to protect the MTA against any allegations of arbitrariness.
• Assist in special projects, outreach activities, and development of reports as needed.

Requirements

• General knowledge of small businesses and business structures.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and handle deadline-driven tasks.
• Independent thinking skills, strong organizational and writing abilities.
• Experience with D/M/WBE programs, conducting investigative review meetings, and familiarity with relevant laws.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or comparable applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in finance, accounting, business, or a related major, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years work experience in auditing/financial analysis and/or conducting insurance or fraud investigations, with at least 3 years in a non-clerical role.

Benefits

The MTA offers competitive compensation, including a salary range of $88,181 - $110,227, and the option to work remotely one day per week.

$88,181 - $110,227 annually

9:00 am - 5:30 pm (7.5 hours/day)
