Certification Manager
About the Role
The Certification Manager will manage APWA's credentialing programs, including professional certifications and stackable credentials, ensuring the quality, integrity, visibility, and ongoing relevance of APWA's credentialing offerings. This position is responsible for program development, operational effectiveness, and strategic growth initiatives that expand participation, strengthen industry recognition, and support the evolving needs of the public works profession.
The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. They should be customer/member service oriented, and be able to effectively work with volunteers, vendors, and staff. Knowledge of credentialing best practices and NCCA standards is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage APWA’s professional certificate programs and stackable credential offerings.
- Ensure the quality, integrity, visibility, and relevance of credentialing programs.
- Oversee program development, operational effectiveness, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Expand participation and strengthen industry recognition of APWA’s credentialing programs.
- Support the evolving needs of the public works profession through credentialing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 4 years of experience in certification or credentialing program management.
- Excellent technology and communication skills.
- Comfortable writing and presenting.
- Association experience preferred.
- Knowledge of credentialing best practices and NCCA standards is a plus.
