Manager, Business Systems Analysis - Information Technology

Serves as primary liaison between the campus community, business units, related third parties, and the IT organization to provide business process solutions that meet departmental and institutional needs. Possesses extensive expertise in business unit operations, process improvement, and technology solutions to enhance efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and direct efforts in redesigning, analyzing, developing, implementing, and supporting business processes and systems for institutional business units.
  • Lead business process re-engineering teams for complex process redesign.
  • Act as key liaison between business units and IT staff for technology solutions and process improvement efforts.
  • Translate high-level business requirements into detailed specifications for technology staff.
  • Provide status updates, reports, and presentations to stakeholders.
  • Prepare testing plans, design and maintain test scripts for supported processes and systems.
  • Conduct testing for upgrades and enhancements to supported systems.
  • Maintain system configurations and documentation for business processes.
  • Develop and maintain user and training documentation for supported systems and processes.
  • Provide training for primary users of supported systems and processes.
  • Serve as overall leader for the Business Analysis team, defining assignments, priorities, and managing work efforts.
  • Set goals, mentor, train, and measure performance of the team.

Requirements

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in business or systems analysis and process improvement.
  • Experience defining and eliciting business requirements and testing (5 years preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of defining and documenting business processes.
  • Understanding of current IT concepts, theories, trends, and systems.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience, preferably with a team of business analysts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to conduct effective presentations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to adapt to and manage multiple initiatives, shifting priorities, and deadlines.
  • Experience in process improvement and change management.
  • Experience with Workday Support and Workday Student Modules preferred.
  • Experience in a higher education environment preferred.
