About the role
AWS is seeking a Manager of Business Development to lead a team focused on increasing the reach of cloud computing across stakeholders in the Automotive and Manufacturing industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business or consulting, experience with Manufacturing and Automotive customers, and a deep understanding of technology.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Industry Specialists to drive overall AWS market and technical strategy for the Manufacturing and Automotive industry.
- Define and execute on a strategic market development plan and ensure it aligns with AWS strategic direction, in partnership with key internal stakeholders.
- Define and size segments, identify and engage key customers, and key partners including Independent Software Vendors and System Integrators.
- Build business development pipeline by engaging with key prospects and partners.
- Understand the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with internal development teams to guide the direction of product offerings for developers.
- Present business reviews to senior management regarding progress and roadblocks to expanding AWS reach in the industry.
- Manage complex contract negotiations and liaise with the legal group.
- Handle a high volume of engagements in the fast-paced cloud computing market.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of building and leading large teams and working in matrixed operating structures.
- Knowledge of distribution networks and channel P&Ls.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience working and communicating with multiple stakeholders, C-level executives, and cross-functional teams.
- Experience in strategic thinking about business, enterprise software products, and new technology platforms and architectures.
- Experience negotiating VP-level contracts with channel partners and agencies.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Product Management, Customer Service, Operations, Legal, Finance, and Senior Leadership.
