Manager, Billing Quality and Process Improvement

Job Summary

Quality Manager, Billing oversees and manages the execution of monthly Billing Quality including Process Improvement, Auditing, Training and Analytics. Engages and communicates progress, manages expectations of a large, varied group of key stakeholders and ensures mitigation plans are implemented and adopted.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Defines and implements quality management and measurement processes for managing billing quality and metrics as it pertains to reconciliation, adjustments, rebates, timelines, accuracy, volatility and completeness.
  • Conducts root cause analysis and defines mitigation plans while ensuring adoption of mitigation plan and closure of issues.
  • Measures and reports adherence to SOX process as it pertains to billing.
  • Measures and reports on billing productivity/efficiency improvements and related profitability and SG&A impacts.
  • Manages billing related risks and issues, quality, communications, engagement, adoption, tasks owners, plans, due dates and status reports.
  • Drives and/or identifies process improvements within billing, vendor payables, reconciliation and other departments where needed.
  • Mentors, coaches and evaluates management staff to foster strong working relationships within and across departments as well as demonstrate leadership success.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Exposure to SOX controls and the management of SOX controls
  • Understanding internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance frameworks beyond SOX
  • Strong experience with Excel and PowerPoint with knowledge of project management
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity, setting direction where standards or processes are evolving
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and drive sustainable process and control improvements
  • Knowledge and understanding of finance and accounting concepts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to drive continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Working knowledge of billing systems, ERP platforms, and downstream financial reporting impacts

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience, in Quality Management or similar area of study
  • Required: 5 years previous experience
  • Required: 3 years in a management/supervisory role
  • Preferred: Lean/Six Sigma Certification, PMP certification
  • Preferred: Experience working with and driving change across cross-functional departments including sales, sales operations, customer service, billing, credit, collections, finance and IT

Physical Requirements

This job primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, etc. The expected base pay range for this hybrid position is $95,700-$120,000. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
