About the role
This full-time position in Buffalo, NY combines a strong analytical foundation with strategic leadership. The Manager, Analytics will lead a team responsible for modeling provider and payer contracting, value-based reimbursement design, quality, healthcare economics, and ongoing financial performance monitoring, budgeting, and forecasting.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of analysts, including recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, while developing personal growth opportunities and appraising job results.
- Oversee development of analyses that support effective decision-making by evaluating complex financial information, forecasting business and economic conditions, and presenting innovative solutions to senior management.
- Support the Director of Finance and Analytics and/or VP of Finance and Operations in strategic planning for financial profitability and negotiating payer arrangements.
- Track performance income/losses from payer contracts, including provider contracting and incentive alignment.
- Lead or support special projects, performance improvement, growth, and population health initiatives across the enterprise.
- Participate in payer contract negotiations, developing strategy, terms, and negotiation points as needed.
- Assess financial risk, propose mitigation plans to senior leadership, and monitor approved plans.
- Design and develop analytic models using Excel and Tableau for value-based reimbursement programs across Commercial, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and Government Programs.
- Partner with the Information Technology team on data technology initiatives.
- Create and implement forecasting methodologies for value-based contracts using probability, statistics, or actuarial techniques.
- Develop and foster internal relationships, providing analytic and consultative support to internal and external partners.
- Analyze variances and recommend adjustments for reserves, assets, and expenditures.
- Provide analytical support for value-based programs, monitoring performance using utilization, financial, clinical, and benchmark data, and overseeing value-based payments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science, finance, business, or a related field, or comparable experience.
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare or insurance analytics.
- 5+ years of experience managing people, teams, and processes.
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel; proficient in PowerPoint and Word.

Pay
The pay range for this role is $85,911.54 to $118,108.09 annually. Individual compensation will be determined based on factors such as market data, education, experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
