Management Trainee (Sarasota International Airport)

About the role

1ST GEAR! is our global Management Trainee Program—a dynamic, 12-month journey designed to fast-track you into a real leadership role at one of the world’s most innovative mobility companies. From day one, you’ll gain hands-on experience, take on responsibility, and develop the skills needed to lead. Upon successful completion, you’ll graduate directly into a leadership position, such as managing your own downtown branch or joining a high-performing airport leadership team.

You’ll earn an hourly rate of $21.53 with a performance-based bonus and gain the use of a company car upon program completion.

Responsibilities

• Take on responsibility early in the 12-month program and support operational goals to drive efficiency and team success.
• Gain insights into key business areas, including Sales, Customer Service, Fleet Management, and Performance Management, with clear learning and performance goals.
• Work in day-to-day operations from the start, learning all aspects of core operations—from sales to fleet management—while receiving training in communication, conflict resolution, sales, and problem-solving strategies.
• Collaborate closely with Branch Managers and Area Directors to develop leadership skills on the job.
• Work and travel within the United States as business needs dictate, including periodic travel of up to 50% during the first year and temporary assignments across various locations.

Requirements

• Growth Mindset: Completed a bachelor’s degree or gained relevant professional experience in Sales, Customer Service, Tourism, Hospitality, or Management.
• Leadership and Entrepreneurial Potential: A hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with the drive to lead—you take initiative rather than wait for instructions.
• Communication Excellence: Strong communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).
• Proactive Attitude: Ability to work independently, solve problems, and take ownership.
• Agile Flexibility: Willingness to work and travel within the United States as required by business needs.
• Mobility Readiness: Valid driver’s license with at least 1 year of driving experience.
