Management Development Program Associate - 2027
Overview
This role is a full-time associate position within a two-year rotational program, designed as a career accelerator to foster the next generation of leading talent.
Full-time new hires for this role will start as a cohort in July 2027.
All associates will rotate roles within their assigned location. Rotations occur at the one-year mark and allow for hands-on experience in two distinct roles.
Associates who participate in this program may choose to remain in their final role placement upon completion of the program or explore other opportunities at Capital One.
Participation in the program requires that you are located in the continental United States with in-person attendance at your assigned location, in accordance with Capital One’s hybrid working model.
Basic Qualifications
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor’s degree or higher with an expectation that you will complete your most recent full-time degree program by July 2027 or earlier
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, economics, information systems, risk management, human resources, accounting, finance, engineering, communications, supply chain, audit, or other related majors
Preferred Qualifications

Responsibilities
- Communicating and leading effectively with team members and partners across diverse audiences
- Autonomously managing and leading multiple complex projects concurrently in a collaborative environment with a high attention to detail
- Developing relationships with leaders and teams across Capital One’s lines of businesses including but not limited to Audit, Banking and Premium Products, Card, Global External Affairs, Human Resources, Risk Management, Technology
- Leveraging data analysis and visualization to diagnose complex problems, inform decision-making, and build strategic recommendations
- Preparing regular updates and holding team accountable on progress by keeping information about project progress up-to-date, accurate, appropriately detailed, and visible to all parties
- Proactively identifying, removing or elevating obstacles, ensuring a quick resolution for the team
- Implementing necessary communications and change activities associated with product launches, technology changes, and process improvements
- Assessing team needs and identifying the resources required to achieve goals
- Using information and interactions to make good judgment on potential risks and issues

- Strong quantitative, analytical, and conceptual skills to drive strategic problem-solving and data-driven decision making
- Advanced communication skills with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders through storytelling
- Demonstrated complex leadership and a team-oriented mindset, willing to go the extra mile to deliver team tasks
- Agility and adaptability to quickly learn, embrace change, challenge the status quo, and thrive while navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
- Active curiosity and an eagerness to leverage new tools and technology to drive initiatives forward
- Exposure to or interest in the principles of project management, process management, and risk management
Pay
- McLean, VA: $97,000 - $97,000 for Associate, MRPCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
