Position Location This position is located in Washington DC, Maryland or Virginia. Job Overview The Management Analyst III performs non‑routine analytical assignments involving substantial variety and complexity. These assignments typically represent portions of larger projects and require the analyst to adapt operational precedents that are not fully applicable to the specific task. Work is screened to remove unusual or high‑level design issues, but the analyst must still apply judgment and technical understanding. The position receives technical guidance from a supervisor or engineer, and completed work is reviewed for technical adequacy and conformity with instructions. The Management Analyst III may provide direction to lower‑level technicians and interacts frequently with professionals and staff across the organization. Responsibilities Essential Job Duties: Perform non‑routine analytical or technical assignments requiring judgment and adaptation of established methods. Select, interpret, and apply operational precedents where they are not fully applicable to the assignment. Develop or review engineering‑related designs by extracting and analyzing a variety of technical data. Apply conventional engineering principles and practices to develop, prepare, or recommend schematics, designs, specifications, electrical drawings, and parts lists. Support design tasks such as:Detailed circuit diagram developmentHardware fittings or test equipment design involving multiple mechanismsConventional piping system layoutsBuilding site or facility layout planningConduct tests or experiments requiring adaptation or modification of critical test equipment and procedures. Set up and operate test or analytical equipment; record data, document problems of significant complexity, and identify issues requiring higher‑level review. Analyze test data and prepare comprehensive technical reports. Contribute to research and development (R&D) efforts by performing limited segments of larger projects following established methodologies. Construct experimental or prototype models based on engineering requirements. Conduct testing, perform redesigns when necessary, evaluate results, and document findings. Provide support or direction to lower‑level technicians, as assigned. Maintain frequent communication with engineers and other professionals to support project goals. Job Requirements Mandatory: Ability to perform non‑routine assignments requiring adaptation of engineering or analytical methods. Experience working with engineering data, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation. Ability to conduct tests or experiments, adapt equipment or procedures, and analyze technical results. Knowledge of conventional engineering or analytical practices related to design, testing, and reporting. Ability to construct prototypes or experimental models and evaluate test outcomes. Strong analytical, technical writing, and reporting skills. Ability to identify issues requiring escalation to engineers or supervisors.
