About the Role
As a Mammography Technician PRN with HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital, you will perform duties directly involved with technical procedures using ionizing radiation to detect pathology in patients. You will regulate equipment, complete necessary paperwork and computer applications, and prepare images for radiologist interpretation. The role involves operating equipment safely, maintaining ALARA standards, and performing all procedures within the scope of a Mammographer's practice. You will also establish and maintain professional relationships with employees, departments, medical staff, and customers.
Responsibilities
- Perform mammography procedures using ionizing radiation to detect patient pathology.
- Regulate and operate mammography equipment safely, adhering to ALARA standards.
- Complete appropriate paperwork and computer applications for each procedure.
- Organize and prepare images for interpretation by the radiologist.
- Maintain a good rapport and professional relationship with colleagues, other departments, medical staff, and customers.
- Perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and moving/lifting patients or equipment up to 50 lbs.
Requirements
- Current ARRT certification with advanced certification in Mammography.
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
- Previous experience as a Mammographer and X-ray Technologist preferred.
- Strong customer service abilities, including effective listening skills.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
