Mammography Technologist PRN

Role Overview

The Mammography Technologist performs screening and diagnostic breast and bone density exams to assist physicians in diagnosis. They work under the supervision of a Radiologist or Manager, ensuring accurate imaging and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform Breast and Bone Density imaging adhering to departmental protocols and ALARA principles to minimize exposure.
• Evaluate image quality, perform post-processing, and ensure proper patient identification.
• Provide compassionate patient care, prioritizing safety and responding appropriately to emergencies.
• Assist radiologists with procedures and follow all policies and standards.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and uphold patient-centered care philosophy.

Qualifications & Skills

• Accredited Radiologic Technology program completion.
• Certifications: BLS, ARRT-Mammography, ARRT-Radiography.
• Minimum 2 years of diagnostic radiography/X-ray experience; 1 year in breast imaging preferred.
• Strong communication, operation of radiographic equipment, and excellent patient service skills.
• Knowledge of mammography positioning techniques and operation of breast imaging units is preferred.
