About the role

This role involves providing mammography services according to physicians' orders, including preparing equipment, performing high-quality imaging, and developing films. The technologist must evaluate image quality, ensure patient comfort, and educate patients based on age-specific needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mammography imaging procedures in accordance with physicians' orders.
  • Prepare and operate mammography equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Evaluate image quality and make necessary adjustments.
  • Ensure patient comfort and provide age-specific education.
  • Perform accurate data entry related to patient records and imaging results.
  • Maintain safety standards to minimize radiation exposure for patients and staff.
  • Adhere to regulations such as MQSA (Mammography Quality Standards Act) and ACR (American College of Radiology) guidelines.
  • Identify patients correctly and manage contrast media as required.
  • Respond to contrast reactions and other medical emergencies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized radiology environment.
  • Participate in safety protocols and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Work rotating shifts as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in mammography is preferred.
