Mammography Technologist - Days

Role Overview Responsible for performing mammography procedures in accordance with federal standards, utilizing technical expertise to produce high-quality images for interpretation. Key Responsibilities Perform all duties of a Mammography Technologist I, including patient education, exam preparation, and image acquisition.Explain procedures to patients, ensuring understanding and comfort, and adhere to imaging protocols to meet expected outcomes.Document deviations, notify healthcare providers of urgent findings, and complete post-processing, image transfer, and documentation promptly.Cover open shifts as needed based on competency, initiate service calls, and follow up until issues are resolved.Perform advanced breast imaging exams, including US-guided biopsies and ductography, independently. Qualifications & Skills Certification by ARRT or NMTCB, with ARRT-M certification preferred, and BLS certification.Successful completion of a 6-month orientation; at least one year of experience preferred.Comprehensive knowledge of imaging equipment, safety standards, and departmental policies.Ability to communicate effectively with patients using age-appropriate language and follow established protocols for complex studies.
