About the Role

Responsible for performing mammography procedures in accordance with federal standards, utilizing technical expertise to produce high-quality images for interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties of a Mammography Technologist I, including patient education, exam preparation, and image acquisition.
• Explain procedures to patients, ensuring understanding and comfort, and adhere to imaging protocols to meet expected outcomes.
• Document deviations, notify healthcare providers of urgent findings, and complete post-processing, image transfer, and documentation promptly.
• Cover open shifts as needed based on competency, initiate service calls, and follow up until issues are resolved.
• Perform advanced breast imaging exams, including US-guided biopsies and ductography, independently.

Requirements

• Certification by ARRT or NMTCB, with ARRT-M certification preferred, and BLS certification.
• Successful completion of a 6-month orientation; at least one year of experience preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of imaging equipment, safety standards, and departmental policies.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients using age-appropriate language and follow established protocols for complex studies.
