UC Health is hiring a Full Time Mammography Technologist for the radiology department at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. We are offering up to a $15,000 sign-on bonus!
Responsibilities
- Engages in population appropriate communication.
- Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment.
- Involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient.
- Identifies any physical limitations of the patient and deploys intervention when necessary.
- Recognizes and responds appropriately to patients/families with behavioral health problems.
- Interprets population related data and plans care appropriately.
- Identifies and responds appropriately to different needs resulting from, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious / cultural norms.
- Performs mammographic and DEXA procedures in accordance with established protocols, which includes, but is not limited to, reviewing for appropriateness and completeness of patient histories and requested services.
- Explains procedures to patients.
- Prepares images, prior studies and paperwork including patient history and location of previous films.
- SUBMITS COMPLETED STUDIES TO THE RADIOLOGISTS FOR INTERPRETATION.
- FAXES RELEASE FORM TO APPROPRIATE FACILITY FOR RELEASE OF PREVIOUS MAMMOGRAMS.
- FOLLOWS UP FILMS ARE RECEIVED IN TIMELY MANNER.
- DIGITIZES IMAGES, ENSURES IMAGES ARE AVAILABLE FOR RADIOLOGIST IN DX SECURE VIEW.
- MaintAINS APPROPRIATE RECORDS AND SUPPLIES.
- ASSISTS WITH MEETING ALL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DIFFERENT ACCREDITATIONS.
- PARTICIPATES IN CONTINUING EDUCATION ACTIVITIES RELATED TO THE FIELD OF MAMMOGRAPHY.
- OBTAINS AND MAINTAINS REQUIRED LICENSES.
- DEMONSTRATES AND MAINTAINS SKILL IN PROVIDING CARE FOR PATIENTS OF SPECIFIC AGE GROUPS, SUCH AS ADULT AND GERIATRIC, THROUGH IN-SERVICE AND CONTINUING EDUCATION.
- PERFORMS EVALUATIVE EQUIPMENT TESTS AND PARTICIPATES IN QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM.
- QUALIFIES PATIENTS FOR FUNDING PROGRAMS.
- Maintains record of results.
- TRACKS GRANT FUNDS.
- TRACKS PATIENT RESULTS AND NOTIFIES APPROPRIATE PARTIES TO ENSURE PROPER FOLLOW UP IS OBTAINED.
- DOES ALL FOLLOW UP OF ABNORMAL MAMMOGRAMS INCLUDING CALLING PATIENTS TO SCHEDULE RETURN APPOINTMENTS.
Qualifications
- Completion of JRCERT approved program in Radiologic Technology or an Associate of Science Degree in Radiology Technology.
- Registered as a Radiologic Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
- Must obtain Advanced certification in mammography within 12 months of start date.
- Current licensure by the State of Ohio.
- Minimum Required: 0-1 years.
- Prefer experience in mammography but will train.
