About the role

UC Health is hiring a Full Time Mammography Technologist for the radiology department at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. We are offering up to a $15,000 sign-on bonus!

Responsibilities

  • Engages in population appropriate communication.
  • Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment.
  • Involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient.
  • Identifies any physical limitations of the patient and deploys intervention when necessary.
  • Recognizes and responds appropriately to patients/families with behavioral health problems.
  • Interprets population related data and plans care appropriately.
  • Identifies and responds appropriately to different needs resulting from, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious / cultural norms.
  • Performs mammographic and DEXA procedures in accordance with established protocols, which includes, but is not limited to, reviewing for appropriateness and completeness of patient histories and requested services.
  • Explains procedures to patients.
  • Prepares images, prior studies and paperwork including patient history and location of previous films.
  • SUBMITS COMPLETED STUDIES TO THE RADIOLOGISTS FOR INTERPRETATION.
  • FAXES RELEASE FORM TO APPROPRIATE FACILITY FOR RELEASE OF PREVIOUS MAMMOGRAMS.
  • FOLLOWS UP FILMS ARE RECEIVED IN TIMELY MANNER.
  • DIGITIZES IMAGES, ENSURES IMAGES ARE AVAILABLE FOR RADIOLOGIST IN DX SECURE VIEW.
  • MaintAINS APPROPRIATE RECORDS AND SUPPLIES.
  • ASSISTS WITH MEETING ALL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DIFFERENT ACCREDITATIONS.
  • PARTICIPATES IN CONTINUING EDUCATION ACTIVITIES RELATED TO THE FIELD OF MAMMOGRAPHY.
  • OBTAINS AND MAINTAINS REQUIRED LICENSES.
  • DEMONSTRATES AND MAINTAINS SKILL IN PROVIDING CARE FOR PATIENTS OF SPECIFIC AGE GROUPS, SUCH AS ADULT AND GERIATRIC, THROUGH IN-SERVICE AND CONTINUING EDUCATION.
  • PERFORMS EVALUATIVE EQUIPMENT TESTS AND PARTICIPATES IN QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM.
  • QUALIFIES PATIENTS FOR FUNDING PROGRAMS.
  • Maintains record of results.
  • TRACKS GRANT FUNDS.
  • TRACKS PATIENT RESULTS AND NOTIFIES APPROPRIATE PARTIES TO ENSURE PROPER FOLLOW UP IS OBTAINED.
  • DOES ALL FOLLOW UP OF ABNORMAL MAMMOGRAMS INCLUDING CALLING PATIENTS TO SCHEDULE RETURN APPOINTMENTS.

Qualifications

  • Completion of JRCERT approved program in Radiologic Technology or an Associate of Science Degree in Radiology Technology.
  • Registered as a Radiologic Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
  • Must obtain Advanced certification in mammography within 12 months of start date.
  • Current licensure by the State of Ohio.
  • Minimum Required: 0-1 years.
  • Prefer experience in mammography but will train.
