Mammography Technologist, 32Hr-MSHAR

Hiring Range: $35.94 - $58.96. Please note that the final offer may vary within this range based on a candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

Under general supervision and in accordance with the guidelines established by the Mammography Supervisor and the Radiologist, this role performs Mammography and related clerical service duties.

Responsibilities

• Operates Mammography Equipment and performs Mammography Exams; makes a psychological and physical assessment of each patient, adjusting standard imaging procedures and techniques to accommodate patient size, age, or condition using universal protocol and sterile techniques as necessary.
• Demonstrates breast self-examination if required.
• Records all pertinent breast history from the patient and notes any discomfort or medical complaint which could be of importance to the Radiologist.
• Adheres to established departmental policies and procedures, and safety control.
• Accurately documents work in the HIS/RIS/PACS and PEN RAD systems.
• Assists in other areas/modalities as needed.
• Cleans and maintains all accessory equipment (i.e., paddles, detectors, work area).
• Remains abreast of developments in the field of Mammography and maintains all necessary continuing educational units for Mammography.
• Responsible for Quality Control designated by supervisor.
• Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
• Attends a variety of meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed.
• Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
• Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
• Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility, and acceptance toward all employees, patients, and visitors.
• Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
• Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.

Requirements

• Registration in both Diagnostic Radiology and Mammography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Licensed by the State of Massachusetts as a mammography technologist.
• BLS healthcare provider certification required before completion of 90-day probationary period.
• Level of knowledge equivalent to an Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology.
• Prior experience in the field is preferred.

Unless certification, licensure, or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed may be substituted for the above requirements.

• Days: Friday, Thursday, Tuesday, Wednesday
• Scheduled Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• Shift: Day Shift, 8 Hours
• Hours per Week: 32
