About the role
The Mammography Technologist performs screening mammography procedures in a high-volume outpatient setting, ensuring high-quality imaging for breast disease diagnosis and treatment. They interact compassionately with patients, maintain compliance with quality standards such as MQSA and FDA regulations, and may utilize general radiography skills for diagnostic exams depending on the location.
Responsibilities
- Performing screening mammograms and possibly diagnostic radiology exams.
- Producing high-quality radiographic images while providing patient-centered care.
- Managing quality control activities per regulatory standards.
- Collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure accurate diagnosis and patient comfort.
Qualifications & Skills
- Completion of a radiologic technology training program meeting ARRT registry requirements.
- Certification as a Washington Radiologic Technologist and BLS provider.
- Registration with ARRT in Radiography upon hire; Mammography registration within one year.
- Prior general radiography experience may be required depending on location.
- Preferred: Two years of full-time mammography experience.
