Mammography Technician

About the role

Performs duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology. Regulates the equipment used to expose the x-ray image, operates the CR unit, and sends images to PACS for verification. Performs and documents screening, diagnostic, and invasive breast procedures consistent with Hospital, FDA, ACR, and department policies, considering patient age, weight, and developmental needs. Assists in the daily operation of the Radiology Department, establishes and maintains professional relationships with colleagues, and reports to the shift supervisor.

Requirements

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date)
• ARRT-M (Mammography) certification
• ARRT-R (Radiography) certification
• Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer license
• Associate Degree or Vocational School Graduate
• 1 year of experience
