Position Description

The MAMC Workforce Development Program Manager is responsible for supporting program clients in obtaining training, industry-recognized certifications, apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship opportunities, and academic degrees that best align with their career goals. The Workforce Manager is part of MAMC’s Workforce Development Team and reports directly to the Apprenticeship Unit Director. The position will split time between MAMC’s primary facilities in Huntington and South Charleston.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Team to plan, coordinate, and implement skills programs, apprenticeships, and pre-apprenticeships for individuals and businesses.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local educational institutions, industry partners, and other stakeholders to identify and secure training opportunities.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their career goals and develop customized training plans that meet their needs.
  • Assist clients in applying for and securing funding for training programs, including grants and scholarships.
  • Provide guidance and support to clients throughout the training process, ensuring they are on track to achieve their career objectives.
  • Monitor progress and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to provide relevant training opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in workforce development, training, or related field.
  • Experience working with employers and employees to develop and implement training programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs.
  • Understanding of industry standards and best practices in workforce development.
  • Experience with adult learning principles and techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
