Our client operates within the major events industry, focusing on managing and executing events of various sizes and types. They address the complex logistical challenges of live event operations by providing coordinated support that ensures smooth event execution and client satisfaction.

About the Role

The Major Events Operations Manager oversees operational aspects of assigned major events. This role manages client relationships from an operational perspective, serves as the primary contact for event-related matters, and plays a key role in problem-solving and decision-making throughout the event lifecycle. The position contributes to the successful delivery of events by ensuring all logistical and operational components are effectively coordinated.

Responsibilities

  • Support major events by facilitating advance processes, scheduling, vendor hiring, marketing approvals, and contract review across a diverse client portfolio
  • Translate agent desk bookings into executable event plans
  • Coordinate logistics with vendors for production, staging, catering, staffing, fencing, power, and other needs
  • Create, publish, and negotiate RFPs or RFQs for vendors and operational services
  • Ensure compliance with insurance, health, legal, and safety requirements
  • Provide onsite logistical support and participate in meetings, site visits, or conferences as needed
  • Manage a high volume of communications including calls and emails
  • Utilize and develop SOPs for event communication and project management
  • Participate in staff, departmental, client, and sales meetings
  • Use preferred technologies including CRMs, project management systems, communication platforms, and AI tools
  • Perform general office and administrative duties
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of professional experience in live event management with onsite logistical support and production logistics
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills; confident, organized, and process-oriented
  • Ability to multitask with excellent time management and attention to detail
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations
  • Experience managing client relationships as primary operational contact, including leading meetings
  • Proficient with internet, social media, Zoom, Teams, and Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365
  • Ability to pass an NCIC FBI background check
  • Valid Real ID and/or U.S. Passport
  • Current U.S. driver’s license and ability to travel independently
  • Physical ability to support live events indoors and outdoors in varying climates

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the entertainment industry, including music, speakers, and comedians
  • Experience working with higher education institutions
  • Experience building budgets and working with profit and loss statements
  • Technical proficiency with SharePoint, ClickUp, and Salesforce
  • Must be a United States citizen residing in the United States

Pay

Starting salary is $57,500.00 with opportunities for performance-based bonuses and salary increases.
