About the role
Provide quality cleanliness oversight to assigned building(s).
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas within the facility, including but not limited to:
- Floor care (mopping, sweeping, buffing, stripping and waxing)
- Cleaning bathrooms
- Emptying trash and separating recyclables
- Emptying garbage
- Wiping windows and walls
- Cleaning stairways
- Carry out minor repairs and building maintenance throughout assigned areas of the facility.
- Responsible for exterior snow and ice removal as well as upkeep of the grounds, including but not limited to:
- Sidewalk maintenance
- Maintaining landscaping
- All other aspects of the building exterior
- Assist staff with special events by setting up chairs and tables, ensuring the area is clean and safe.
- Maintain building maintenance tools and machinery to ensure all items are in good working condition.
- If the program does not have a superintendent, order cleaning supplies, paper supplies, lightbulbs, garbage bags, etc., and maintain biweekly inventory.
- Assist in moving and storing program supplies, office furniture, office equipment, dorm furniture, consumer belongings, and other items in and around the facility when appropriate.
- Comply with all SUS employee policies, procedures, and protocols, including SUS Cooperate Compliance Policies.
- Assist when emergencies arise in the facility.
- Wear the SUS maintenance uniform and maintain it so that it is clean and presentable at the start of each shift.
- Complete other tasks assigned by the Director or Superintendent.
- Attend staff meetings, group supervision, and trainings as needed.
- Assist with apartment turnover following move-outs to prepare apartments for new families, including plastering, sanding walls, painting, and transporting resident and property to new apartment/unit.
- Assist the Super with the maintenance of the building.
Requirements
- At least one year of maintenance and cleaning experience in a large residential or program setting.
- Must possess good interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred.
- Experience working within a supportive housing setting is beneficial.
