Maintenance Trainee (MG01-MG08) All Shifts - Sedalia MO

About the role

This role focuses on preventative maintenance, equipment rebuilding, facility repairs, and troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment. Trainees will learn to use a computerized maintenance management system and may be subject to shift or department rotation.

All internal candidates will be considered first. If no internal candidates are selected, external applicants with prior experience in industrial maintenance, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and fabrication will be preferred.

Trainees must successfully complete the Maintenance Skills Training Program within the allotted time frame. Failure to pass required levels may result in a change of pay, position, or possible termination.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment
• Rebuild equipment as determined necessary by supervisor
• Conduct facility repairs within the assigned area
• Make machine adjustments during production periods
• Repair equipment in the event of mechanical failure
• Learn and use the computerized maintenance management system
• Communicate effectively with proper personnel
• Abide by all safety regulations
• Complete all required levels of the Maintenance Skills Training Program within the specified time frame

Requirements

• 3 months of mechanical experience or currently enrolled in or completed an automotive/mechanical degree or training program
• Ability to learn troubleshooting skills and use a computerized maintenance program
• Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Must complete a separate task as part of the application process

Note: Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days to be considered for rehire. Former Team Members terminated for gross misconduct or those who have worked at Tyson three or more times are not eligible for rehire.
