About the role
Greystar is a leading real estate platform offering property management, investment management, development, and construction services in institutional-quality rental housing. The Maintenance Technician position is located at West Side Square in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Responsibilities
- Completes assigned work orders and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Prepares vacant apartment homes for leasing and new move-ins by completing the make-ready process.
- Follows procedures for accessing and returning materials, supplies, equipment, and tools.
- Documents and tracks service requests in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintains grounds, common areas, and amenities by performing tasks such as picking up trash, pressure-washing, cleaning, and painting.
- Supports cost-cutting initiatives by fixing rather than replacing parts when possible and practicing proper tool usage.
Other Responsibilities
- Complies with safety and risk-management policies by attending safety meetings, completing required training, and reporting accidents and incidents promptly.
- Periodically inspects property to identify safety and repair concerns and communicate these to management.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods, bend, stoop, climb ladders, reach, carry objects, and crawl in confined areas.
- Work inside and outside in all weather conditions.
- Ability to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver weights of up to twenty-five (25) pounds independently and fifty (50) pounds with assistance.
- Rare or regular travel may be required.
- Flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Licenses or Certifications
- EPA certifications Type 1 and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling (Certified Service Technicians).
- All certifications as required by State and Local jurisdictions (all Service Technicians).
- Valid driver’s license to operate a golf cart on property (if applicable).
Pay
The hourly range for this position is $23 - $25.
