Responsible for executing maintenance of all aspects of the facility and its services, including maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding various production machines and equipment. Ensures the set up and use of tools and equipment before production to maintain optimum safety levels. Familiar with production floor concepts, practices, and procedures, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and execute Predictive, Preventative, and Corrective maintenance and troubleshooting on Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Robotic MHE equipment.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and electrical and instrument test equipment to install and maintain facility equipment safely.
- Exhibit Safety and Maintenance best practices and ensure others follow them.
- Work hands-on and demonstrate Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge on all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) in the building.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Operations.
- Mentor other technicians with varying skill sets.
- Troubleshoot breakdowns to ensure high levels of equipment availability by prioritizing response to issues.
- Support continuous improvement of systems in a standard manner.
- Understand Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and equipment performance metrics.
- Serve as SME to the operational team on correct use of equipment.
- Collaborate with and oversee contractors, including escalations when required.
- Manage critical spare parts inventory using CMMS.
- Provide on-site support and manage issues, escalating high-severity tickets as needed.
- Document all work performed and any unusual conditions or defective equipment accurately.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain tools and work areas with good housekeeping and cleanliness.
- Perform safety inspections and audits as required.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Team Leader.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience with Material Handling Equipment, specifically Automation, conveyance, and robotics.
- 2+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines with relevant experience in robotics and automation.
- Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of PLC-based control systems.
- Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for proactive maintenance and work orders.
- Knowledge of Statutory Compliance requirements (e.g., OSHA, NFPA70).
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal).
- Ability to oversee and influence others on the team.
- Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and workload.
- Experience detecting malfunctions and solving issues.
- Experience with safe operation of power tools, hand tools, and machinery.
- Packaging operation and high-speed automation experience.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Comfort with exposure to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
- Experience with safety oversight and safe operation of motor vehicles.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally without mechanical assistance.
- Experience reviewing blueprints and CAD drawings.
Schedule
Shift rotation:
- Week 1: Friday – Sunday, 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM
- Week 2: Thursday – Sunday, 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM
Must be open to overtime and schedule flexibility as needed.
Pay
Compensation includes base pay plus bonus target: $33.00 per hour, $3.00 shift differential, and a 5% target quarterly bonus. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
