About the Role
Responsible for executing maintenance of all aspects of the facility and its services, including maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding various production machines and equipment. Ensures the set-up and safe use of tools and equipment before production. Familiar with production floor concepts, practices, and procedures, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and execute predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance and troubleshooting on hydraulic, pneumatic, and robotic MHE (Material Handling Equipment).
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and electrical/instrument test equipment to install and maintain facility equipment safely.
- Exhibit safety and maintenance best practices and ensure others follow them.
- Demonstrate subject matter expert (SME) knowledge on all MHE in the building.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with operations teams.
- Mentor other technicians with varying skill sets.
- Troubleshoot breakdowns to ensure high equipment availability by prioritizing response to issues.
- Support continuous improvement of systems in a standard manner.
- Understand Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and equipment performance metrics.
- Serve as SME to the operational team on correct equipment use.
- Collaborate with and oversee contractors, including escalations when required.
- Manage critical spare parts inventory using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Provide on-site support and manage high-severity ticket escalations.
- Document work performed, unusual conditions, or defective equipment accurately.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain tools and work areas with good housekeeping and cleanliness.
- Perform safety inspections and audits as required.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor or team leader.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience with material handling equipment, specifically automation, conveyance, and robotics.
- 2+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines with relevant experience in robotics and automation.
- Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of PLC-based control systems.
- Experience using CMMS to plan proactive maintenance, create work orders, etc.
- Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70).
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) in English.
- Proven ability to oversee and influence others on the team.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects and workloads.
- Experience detecting malfunctions and solving issues.
- Experience with the safe operation of power tools, hand tools, and machinery.
- Packaging operation and high-speed automation experience.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Comfort with exposure to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
- Experience with safety oversight and safe operation of motor vehicles.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally without mechanical assistance.
- Experience reviewing blueprints and CAD drawings.
Schedule
- Shift Rotation:
- Week 1: Monday - Thursday, 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM
- Week 2: Monday - Wednesday, 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM
- Must be open to overtime and schedule flexibility as needed.
Pay
Compensation includes base pay plus bonus target: $33 per hour, with a $1.00 shift differential and a 5% target quarterly bonus. The base pay range is subject to change.
