Maintenance Technician - Rolla, KS

We have an exciting opportunity in our Rolla, Kansas location. Assist in maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect automated feed systems, fresh water systems, recycle systems, cool cells, ventilation, controllers, and penning for animal production facilities to ensure operations run efficiently and effectively.
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools (e.g., hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches) to precision measuring instruments and electrical/electronic testing devices.
• Follow work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring replacement, repair, or maintenance.
• Weld building equipment, including load-out chutes, and fabricate penning or gating.
• Must be on-call and available for emergency situations.
• Core competencies for success: instills trust, communicates effectively, action-oriented, ensures accountability, and drives results.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or greater; high school diploma or GED preferred.
• One to three months of experience or training, or a combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Must possess a current valid driver’s license, acceptable MVR, and ability to pass DOT physical and obtain a medical card.

• Regularly required to move around the facility.
• Must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.

• Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibration.
• Noise level in the work environment varies by location.

Schedule

The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel may be required as requested.
