Northfield, Minn. is home to two Post Consumer Brands manufacturing plants, the Campbell Mill and Ames Mill, two distribution centers, and more than 750 team members. The Campbell Mill plant is 1 million square feet and houses 7 manufacturing technologies to produce a wide variety of cereal products. Northfield is a historic town featuring two colleges and the original Ames Mill where the Malt-O-Meal Company began.

About the role

We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to support, maintain, and repair production and facility equipment in a safe, efficient, and food-safe environment. You’ll help ensure equipment reliability, troubleshoot issues, and support continuous improvement across the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment and building systems (mechanical, electrical, electronic, PLCs, robotics, hydraulics/pneumatics, HVAC/steam, welding/fabrication).
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance and production teams.
  • Complete work orders accurately and on time; help maintain parts inventory.
  • Follow all plant, safety, and SQF/food-safety requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with operators to identify process improvements.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Education/experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance (Associate degree or technical certificate preferred).
  • Knowledge of industrial electricity, motor controls, sensors, VFDs, PLCs, robotics, welding, machining, and rigging.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools (voltmeters, ohm meters, etc.).
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and learn CMMS systems.
  • Understanding of OSHA safety practices (LOTO, PPE, confined space, etc.).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform frequent standing, climbing, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, outdoors, and in varying temperatures/noise levels.
  • Must wear required PPE and follow all safety guidelines.

Pay

$36.95 an hour + $2 shift differential.

Schedule

  • Night Shift - 12-hour shifts starting at 4:45pm.
  • Follows a 2-2-3 schedule:
    • Week 1: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on
    • Week 2: 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off
  • Every other weekend off.
  • Includes built-in overtime pay.
