About the Role

The Essity Manufacturing Professional Hygiene North America Converting Team is seeking a Maintenance Technician - Manufacturing for our Bordentown, New Jersey facility. This role involves preventive and predictive maintenance on production and paper-converting equipment, troubleshooting technical issues using root cause analysis, and providing technical guidance to operators. Expertise in mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems, as well as industrial maintenance skills, is required.

Responsibilities

• Consistently demonstrate safe work practices and promote a culture of safety among team members.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on process equipment to improve reliability.
• Troubleshoot equipment and processes using root cause analysis.
• Maintain knowledge of the maintenance planning process and manufacturing work systems.
• Maintain documentation such as drawings, diagrams, and bills of materials, and communicate repairs to others.
• Participate in improvement projects to reduce maintenance costs and process equipment failures.
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations Leadership, Subject Matter Experts, Vendors, Technical representatives, and Contractors on projects and ongoing needs.
• Perform electrical work, including motor control circuits, AC & DC drives, electrical power distribution, Allen Bradley PLC software, I/O devices, and other industrial electrical systems.
• Work with mechanical and electrical blueprints or drawings (preferred).
• Adhere to Essity Safety and Quality standards, including Lock Out/Tag Out and Confined Space procedures.
• Follow a strict Preventive Maintenance Schedule.
• Report machine defects identified during preventive maintenance that cannot be corrected to a supervisor.
• Respond to production team calls to restore and/or adjust machines to maintain expected production rates.

Requirements

• High School graduate or GED required; Technical or College degree preferred.
• 3+ years of Industrial Maintenance experience.
• Experience working with a preventive maintenance schedule.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with the following tools and machinery:
  • Lathe
  • Drill presses
  • Band saws
  • Hand tools
  • Pipefitting
  • Welding, brazing, burring
  • Air compressors/HVAC systems
• Working with mechanical and electrical blueprints or drawings is a plus.
