Schedule

Sunday–Thursday, 10 PM–6:30 AM. Hours are subject to change based on business needs.

About the Role

The Maintenance Technician works independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventive, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment and building remain fully operational.

Responsibilities

  • Perform needed maintenance on equipment and direct support of production operating needs.
  • Evaluate equipment operation and suggest necessary action when malfunctions occur or improvements are needed.
  • Participate in planning activities and manage various plant utilities that can include chiller, air compressor, security system, and fire protection system.
  • Complete process and preventive maintenance work orders; capture and communicate associated data.
  • Maintain plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, hydraulics, motors, pneumatics, automated controls, and pumps.
  • Troubleshoot issues and repair failures of production and facilities equipment.
  • Develop knowledge of electrical and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, and motor starters as needed.
  • Set up and operate power tools, drill motor, circular saw, welders, drill press, bench grinder, band saw, hand tools, and other metal-working equipment.
  • Assist with fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment.
  • Comply with and participate in regulatory, Carlisle, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards (PSM, safety protocols, COS).
  • Execute projects as directed on an as-needed basis.
  • Apply continuous-improvement tools and processes to every aspect of the role.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience with forklift driving.
  • Ability to perform needed maintenance on equipment and direct support of production operating needs.
  • Ability to evaluate equipment operation and suggest necessary action when malfunctions occur or improvements are needed.
  • Ability to participate in planning activities and manage various plant utilities (chiller, air compressor, security system, fire protection system).

Working Conditions

  • Activities occur inside an insulation-manufacturing facility.
  • Exposure to ambient/outside temperatures.
  • Exposure to nuisance dust, chemicals, mechanical parts, and pinch points.
  • Noise from industrial machinery.
  • Fumes from solvents, forklift exhaust, and tractor-trailers.
  • Pinch points on moving mechanical parts.
  • Heavy-equipment operation including forklift and yard tractor.
  • Typically 40 hours per week with overtime as required; second shift in a fast-paced 24/7 operation.

Travel Requirement

Overnight travel up to 10%, including travel to other facilities and trainings.
