Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician III position provides advanced maintenance support for equipment and the facility.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Able to complete all expected duties within the Maintenance Tech II position.
  • Equipment installation, equipment troubleshooting, equipment repair, parts checkout, parts ordering, and use of manufacturing tech support.
  • Maintenance activities including but not limited to:
    • Electrical & plumbing installation and repair
    • Hydraulic system troubleshooting
    • Pneumatic system troubleshooting
    • Equipment moves
    • PLC troubleshooting
    • Welding & cutting
    • Basic building repair and construction
    • Communication cable installation
    • Bloodborne pathogen cleanup
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on machines, equipment, and plant facilities to eliminate down time and ensure production goals.
  • Record all maintenance activities in the CMMS system.
  • Follow established equipment Lockout/Tagout procedures as required without fail.
  • Keep a clean work area, machines/equipment and sustain 6S principles.
  • Adhere to and comply with all written GMP/Safety policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • All job functions to be completed in compliance with federal, state, local regulations, company guidelines and policies.

Reports to: Maintenance & Facilities Manager

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Journeyman license, work experience or equivalent technical training in a related field.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of four years continuous maintenance experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse groups across multiple levels in the organization
  • Intermediate mechanical ability
  • Intermediate ability in all aspects of facility and equipment maintenance:
    • Hydraulic troubleshooting
    • Repair of electrical and plumbing systems
    • PLC operations & programming preferred
    • Electrical & hydraulic schematics
    • Equipment Rigging
    • Robotics/Automation
    • Industrial Air Compressors
  • Ability to work at heights and to periodically work outside under all weather conditions.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a powered industrial vehicle license.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a 1st aid and CPR certification.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent to constant standing, walking and stepping up and down
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 25lbs, occasionally lifting up to 75lbs
  • Frequently squat, bend, twist, reach and kneel
  • Frequent or repetitive hand functions
  • Frequently climbing of stairs and ladders
  • Able to work in awkward or tight spaces occasionally
