About the role

As a Maintenance Technician III, you'll join a team dedicated to maintaining and improving plant operations. Your responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing complex machinery, conducting preventive maintenance, and ensuring production efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Perform highly technically complex tasks, demonstrating a higher degree of independence.
  • Demonstrate/achieve and maintain Maintenance Tech III proficiency within 10 months of hire.
  • Diagnose and repair complex machinery, conduct preventive maintenance, and ensure production efficiency.
  • Provide operators with support regarding machine overall equipment reliability. Collaborate with production associates and other technicians to solve problems with reliability and urgency.
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment setup and production changeovers.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly. Recognize and report unusual, inefficient, or dangerous mechanical and electrical situations.
  • Follow all safety standards and quality protocols to ensure production meets high standards.
  • Utilize appropriate safety precautions, methods, and apparatus to minimize exposure to chemicals, dust, and mechanical and electrical hazards.
  • Maintain work records and prepare clear and concise oral and written reports.
  • Work all required work schedules.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and equivalent experience.
  • 5-8 years experience in industrial maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Expert proficiency in hydraulics, mechanics, electrical, welding, and rigging.
  • Intermediate proficiency with PLC.
  • Commitment to continuous learning to achieve increasing levels of expertise.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must hold Perdue Farms QEW Certification.

Qualifications

  • 2-year Technical Degree in Engineering or Industrial Maintenance preferred.

Pay

Schedule

  • 10:00pm-6:30am

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching overhead and/or at shoulder level, lifting (50 lbs.), and/or repetitive tasks throughout the day.
  • Occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
  • Day travel to nearby locations is sometimes required.
  • May need to access files, supplies, and equipment.
  • Exposure to wet and moist floors, temperatures ranging from 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and noise levels of 50 db to 110 db.
  • Exposure to chemicals used in poultry, food, and processing plants.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job.
