About the role
Join a dynamic facilities maintenance team as a Maintenance Technician II. This full-time contract-to-hire role offers a fantastic opportunity to apply your technical skills in commercial and industrial building environments. You'll perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure building systems operate safely and efficiently. Work independently or collaboratively to maintain a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for all occupants.
Responsibilities
- Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and routine repairs on commercial building systems and equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and general building issues
- Monitor equipment performance, document maintenance activities in the CMMS, and report concerns promptly
- Perform tasks such as filter changes, lubrication, belt replacement, coil cleaning, painting, and minor carpentry repairs
- Communicate effectively with occupants, vendors, and team members to provide exceptional customer service
- Follow all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and PPE requirements
- Support contractors, special projects, and overall facility operations while maintaining organized work areas
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or vocational training preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in commercial or industrial settings
- Valid EPA 608 CFC certification and valid driver’s license required; certifications in forklift, aerial lift, OSHA, or related areas are a plus
- Strong reading and interpreting skills for safety procedures, manuals, blueprints, and work orders
- Proficient in basic algebra, geometry, and measurement calculations for maintenance activities
- Basic knowledge of building systems, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry skills
- Ability to safely operate hand/power tools, lifts, and forklifts with certification
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Physical Demands
- Must be able to frequently stand, walk, sit, handle tools, reach, and communicate effectively
- Occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift up to 50 pounds
