Maintenance Technician II

About the role
The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for repairing, maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting industrial equipment such as washers, dryers, steam tunnels, conveyor systems, and boilers. This in-plant position requires strong technical knowledge of industry equipment, the ability to work with varied mechanical/electrical systems, and strong leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure plant machines run smoothly.
- Conduct morning start-up and evening shutdown of equipment including boilers, air compressors, power systems, pumps, and valves.
- Maintain lint traps, shaker screen barrels, oil levels, grease fittings, and water levels.
- Complete general and basic repairs on machinery.
- Follow manufacturer-recommended maintenance schedules and document processes.
- Identify and report major repairs needed on machinery.
- Perform welding, boiler chemical testing, and make necessary chemistry adjustments.
- Resolve safety concerns and prepare maintenance records.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Minimum of two years of maintenance engineering experience.
- Specific knowledge of machinery, electricity, electronics, plumbing, welding, and boiler applications.
- Experience with mechanical troubleshooting, hydraulics, pneumatics, and reading repair manuals & schematics.
- Willingness to learn: Steam Boiler, Electrical, Pneumatic, Schematics, Maintenance, Welding, and Plumbing (training provided).
Physical Requirements
- Requires standing or moving through the plant during the workday.
- Tasks may involve stooping, pulling, pushing, and working in cramped areas.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Pay
$26 - $33 an hour. Starting pay is based on education, experience, other qualifications, and location of assignment.
