Position Summary

The Maintenance technician provides a variety of standard and skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of grounds and facilities. Maintain building and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion. Maintain and repair functions of the center as determined by the maintenance director/supervisor.

Core Competencies

  • Deliver excellent customer service to tenants.
  • Respond to work order in a timely manner.
  • Maintain excellent documentation/communication regarding status of work orders.
  • Maintain building and grounds is clean, safe and repairs are completed in a professional manner.

Position Responsibilities

  • Work closely with and follows directions from the maintenance director/supervisor.
  • Take care of tools and equipment; reporting any tools found to be unsafe or broken immediately to director/supervisor.
  • Perform all tasks generated by the work order system and document all work performed as required.
  • Remain on call, (once every six weeks), for 24 hours a day during the call period.
  • Renovate apartments and ensure work is completed on time.
  • Must be available for snow removal and is expected to be on site during snowstorms or any other seasonal, weather related emergency situation.
  • Ensure that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English
  • Must have excellent organization and time management skills
  • Must have excellent customer service skills

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift, pull, and pushing 50 (fifty) pounds
