Responsibilities
- Perform routine scheduled, preventive, and emergency maintenance on plant electrical and mechanical systems and equipment.
- Install, repair, adjust, and test equipment and components to ensure that systems function properly.
- Inspect or examine equipment, structures, materials, or components to identify causes of errors or identify defects.
- Effectively use a computer to manage work orders, document work, and requisition parts/materials to accomplish required maintenance in an efficient and organized manner.
- Communicate and cooperate with machine operators; operate equipment to detect equipment problems, analyze malfunctions, and verify system problems.
- Determine correct types of equipment, tools, or materials needed to complete tasks.
- Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems.
- Work effectively as a team member and coordinate activities with others as needed.
- Use mechanical, electrical equipment, and techniques to conduct intermediate troubleshooting and repairs, including but not limited to: electrical multi-meter, dial indicators, strain gauges, belt tension gauges, belt wear gages, and computer aids to read and manipulate ladder logic in PLCs and other controllers.
- Understand and demonstrate proficient skills in all maintenance competencies.
- Follow health and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean workplace following 5S standards.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the above duties.
- Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical and Instrumentation, Electro-Mechanical, Automated Manufacturing Technology, or Electrical Engineering Technology preferred.
- Must be knowledgeable, adhere to, and enforce stated safety policies and procedures.
- Incorporate and maintain safe behavior into all activities and consistently comply with all established safety and health policies and procedures.
- 3-5 years of experience with demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and document simple and complex machine malfunctions related to mechanical and electrical components, devices, and/or systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents including diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, schematics, or ladder logic diagrams.
- Ability to perform necessary welding, fabrication, and machine shop tasks incidental to maintenance and repair needs.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent customer service skills.
