About the Role
This position involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery and electrical equipment such as motors, electrical circuits, SICK ATR systems, baggage handling systems, and passenger boarding bridges. The role requires compliance with safety practices, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures, and the ability to perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery and electrical equipment in accordance with diagrams, electrical drawings, operational manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications.
- Exercise safe working practices at all times, complying with Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
- Prepare and execute service calls, emergency maintenance, and corrective maintenance.
- Perform preventive maintenance and follow up on corrective maintenance work orders.
- Report service calls to management and advise on optimization of (sub) systems.
- Analyze system performance and occasionally monitor systems from the Control Room.
- Develop service-supporting tools and complete CMMS service reports, parts usage, and warranty records.
- Research and request spare parts, and maintain inventory.
- Work independently on preventive maintenance and identify problems in planning and tooling.
- Provide input for improvements and independently correct standard faults.
- Train, instruct, and guide mechanics.
- Supervise mechanics covered under the Vanderlande BHS O&M contract, represent management on-site, and interface with customers.
- Develop and execute contingency plans for operational disruptions or safety events.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of material handling experience.
- Minimum 1 year of CMMS experience.
- Thorough knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Good working knowledge of high and low-level control systems.

Schedule
Full-time position in a 24/7 operation with 3 shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd, or mid-shift). Flexibility is required, including overtime, weekend, and holiday work.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Work in secured baggage handling areas, repair stations, or on airfields with strict deadlines.
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching from ladders and scaffolds, and climbing.
- Regularly required to talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms.
- Very active role requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day.
- Must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
- Handling greasy parts and tools, sometimes in uncomfortable positions.
- Exposure to baggage handling systems, mechanical parts, and vibration.
